
This year’s Independence Day celebration will feature the 5-door off-road SUV Thar from Mahindra & Mahindra. As the business also did for its second-generation Thar. The company is planning an event for August 15–16, 2023, in South Africa, which has further improved its chances. Sales of it should begin in the second half of this year. The 5-door Maruti Suzuki Jimny, which will go on sale in the first week of June this year, will be its main rival in this long-wheelbase version of the Thar.
Thar 5 Door : Looks
The Mahindra Thar 5 door will have a similar appearance and styling to the three-door model. It will have the distinguishing boxy stance with rounded headlamps, prominent wheel arches and a spare mounted on the tailboard. It is capable of receiving new alloy wheels and body panels.
Thar 5 Door : Dimensions
The 5-door Thar will have a wheelbase that is about 300 mm longer than the 3-door model. The split rear seats can be seen in the spy photos. Its smaller version’s features will be most of what distinguish it. A new touchscreen infotainment system with AdrenoX software, a sunglasses holder, and the front and centre armrests are all available from the company.
Thar 5 Door Price
The Mahindra Thar 5 door will be substantially more expensive than the 3-door model. We’ll reveal more information about this later. The Maruti Jimny 5 Door, which has a 1.5 litre petrol engine, will be in direct competition with this SUV.
Thar 5 Door : Engine Capabilities
The 2.2-liter diesel and 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engines from the current 3-door Thar SUV are probably going to be used in the new Thar 5 door model. which will have a respective output of 370Nm/172bhp and 300Nm/130bhp. It will be offered in both manual and automatic options. The Mahindra Thar 5 Door will have both 4X2 and 4X2 drivetrain options, just like the 3-door Thar does. Only the 2.2L diesel engine, which is more potent, will be compatible with the 4X4 system.
